Ridgeway Canicross was set up to bring like-minded runners who love to run with their dogs on or around the Ridgeway National trail.
Dean is no stranger to the outdoors having previously served in the Armed forces and as a Joint Service Rock Climbing Leader. He is mountain leader trained, an active member of the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Mountaineering Club and registered with British Mountaineering Council. More recently, having discovered Canicross he was delighted to complete the Canicross Coach Run Leader Qualification.
Dean is Swindon based and runs his German Short-haired Pointer Millie on local trails, sometimes solo but often with other clubs such as North Wiltshire Canicross Club and Wroughton Whippets. His main love is trail running with dogs but he is an accomplished county level cross country and road runner too.
Having spent many years delivering adventurous training in the Armed Forces Dean takes personal safety seriously. As such he is Enhanced DBS cleared, Canicross Coach Run Leader trained and holds a L3 qualification in Education and Training.
